Goal: Understand the development of a motion graphic as an element of branding
A motion graphic combines visuals, sounds and the implied motion of the, screen to create a branding element that moves through time.
Motion graphics are used for splash screens on apps, YouTube videos and TV “interstitials” (short promos between programming).
Use images that abstractly imply your brand. The should suggest the nature of your brand rather than what it does.
Images should be compositionally complimentary to your logotype.
Before creating the movie, plan the cropping, sequence and interaction between, the images and the logotype by creating a storyboard.
For the motion graphic: Use transitions to blend the copped images with elements of the logotype and finally the completed logotype. Dissolve transitions are the should be the most frequently used transitions.
